English speaking magician in the Netherlands
Looking for a magician who performs in English? David Globe is a magician and mentalist based in Leeuwarden, in the north of the Netherlands. He performs close-up magic among your guests, or a one-hour show for the whole room, in English, Dutch or a mix of both.
Magic without a common language
David moved to the Netherlands from Russia when he was fifteen. He spoke no Dutch and no English. What he did have was a deck of cards, and on the street he found out that was enough. A card that vanishes and turns up somewhere it can’t be needs no translation.
“Magic was my way of connecting with people, before I spoke the language,” David says. “People smile the same in every language.”
That makes him a good fit for international teams, expat communities, student events and weddings where not every guest speaks Dutch.
What you can book
Walk-around magic
David moves between your guests during a reception, drinks or dinner, and performs close-up magic right in front of them. No stage or equipment needed. Usually one hour, longer on request.
The main show
A show of about an hour for the whole room, with mentalism, humour and guests who take part. This needs a stage, a microphone and sound.
Magic workshop
About an hour, for all ages. David actually gives it more often to older people than to children. Everyone takes the tricks home.
Where David performs
David has been performing for more than ten years. He has appeared at Tumult in Groningen, at Neushoorn and Theater De Bres in Leeuwarden, at the Fletcher Hotel in Paterswolde and at House of Magic in the TenClub in Amsterdam.
He prefers to perform in the north of the Netherlands (Friesland, Groningen, Drenthe and Overijssel) and in Noord-Holland, including Amsterdam. Other places are welcome too.
What guests say
“it was great fun to have David the magician joning our event. He has a great humor and incredibly good tricks. Really unbeliveable. If he walks around trough the public, people become involved with each other even if they didn’t know each other before.”
